Experts talks about how body language can reveal what a person is feeling. But this can often be misinterpreted and you’ll end up making assumptions that are not right.
It’s easy to misread body signals if you ignore verbal clues from the person you are communicating with .
Holly Riordan of All Women Stalk lists a few body signals that are often misinterpreted:
  • Crossed arms: You might cross your arms when you’re cold or when you have nowhere else to put them. However, crossed #arms can be misinterpreted as a sign of aggression. It’s a way to close yourself off, which can make you #look like you aren’t interested in social interaction. So if you’re on a date and are wondering why your man is keeping his distance from you, it’s #time to uncross those arms.
  • Narrow eyes: You might narrow your #eyes in order to see better, or even because you got something caught in your eye. However, most people will see that type of body language as a signal of anger. You might cause them to wonder what they did wrong, so if they suddenly seem like their guard is up, reassure them that you aren’t upset with them.
  • Hands on hips: You might feel comfortable resting your hands on your hips. However, some #people will assume that you’re feeling moody and have an attitude. Sure, it’s a ridiculous assumption, but it’s also a common one. However, as long as your facial features are soft, they’ll realize that you don’t mean any harm by resting your hands on your hips. You just need a place to put them.
  • Resting face: Some #people have resting faces that look angrier than others. It doesn’t mean that you’re upset at all. It’s just what you naturally #look like. There’s nothing you can do about this, so if your #man asks you why you’re so upset, just reassure him that you’re perfectly fine.
  • Slouching on your seat: You might have back problems and slouch to feel more comfortable. However, others might assume that you’re slouching in your seat, because you’re beyond bored. Sit up straight if you want to reassure them that you’re interested in what’s going on.
  • Propping up your head: Propping up your head is another piece of body language that can cause others to assume you’re bored out of your mind. While you might do it to feel more comfortable, or to keep yourself awake out of tiredness, they’ll assume that you have no interest in the conversation that’s occurring around you.
  • Foot tapping or fidgeting: You might have a habit of tapping your foot and fidgeting to keep your hands busy. If that’s the case, you probably don’t even realize when you’re doing it. However, that body language can make you look like you’re bored. If you make those movements on a date, your #partner might assume that you’re itching to get away from them.
